Solar Dehydrator Working Principle
- The solar dehydrator is black in color to absorb the maximum amount of sunlight.
- The inclination of the solar dehydrtor allows the moist lighter air to escape from the top.
- The dry air is fed in from the vents at the bottom of the box.
- In direct sunlight the contents of the box is heated up and releases moisture in the air.
- This moist air rises to the top and escapes out from the vents leaving dry air behind.
- Over time this process is repeated and slowly the contents of the box get dehydrated.
1 Dry Bones in Sun for 15 days
- Collect the bones from your kitchen scraps and place them in a solar dehydrator for 15 days.
- If you do not have a solar dehydrator you can use an oven or an electric dehydrator or even a pressure cooker.
- By dehydrating the bones it becomes brittle and is easy to crush into a powder.
2 Manually Break Bones to Small Size
- Once the bones are dehydrated bring them inside and cover them with a plastic sack
- Cush the bones into smaller pieces using stones
- Then open the plastic sac and check for any large bone fragments
- Use the stones to break them into smaller pieces
- You can also use mortar and piston to break them into smaller chunks
3 Crush Bones to Powder Using Grinder
- Using an electric blender crush the bones into fine powder.
- Make sure not to add too many bone pieces at once to prevent motor overload.
4 Filter Crushed Bone to Get Bone Meal
- To make a fine bone meal powder use a metal mesh to filter out the larger bone fragments.
- Then again crush the coarse bone powder to get a fine powder.
- Repeat the steps till all your bones have been crushed to a fine powder.
